How Long Will it Take to get my Wool Back?

Turn around time depends on the time of year. Currently our turn around time is 8 - 14 weeks. Please ask when you send your wool in to get a more exact time frame as it does vary.

Ordering Information for Batting:

BATTING - Batting is a blanket sized piece of wool that is the fluffy filling inside cozy comforters. Some hand spinners and felters prefer batting over roving.
  • Comforter Batts - Specify your bed size.
  • Quilting Batts - Lightweight batting. Specify your bed size.
  • Spinning and Felting Batts - 72 x 90 untrimmed, approximately 3lbs.
  • Mattress Pads - Specify your bed size. Cotton covers are available.
  • Bed Pillows - Specify standard, queen or king.
Some fine and course Wools: In most instances, very fine and very course wools are not recommended to be processed into comforter batting. These wools have a tendency to migrate (wool working through the fabric cover). A medium to medium/fine grade of wool is recommended.

Linings and Coverings: Choose between pellon, muslin or fabric. We recommend pellon if the comforter will be permanently covered and tied, quilted or sewn. If the comforter
is to be used with a duvet or comforter cover, a muslin lining with the running stitch is the best when used with a duvet cover and a hand tied muslin batt can be used as a comforter under a quilt.

Ordering Information for Roving:

ROVING - Roving is a rope-like fiber for spinning or crafting. Please specify if you would
like it loose or in balls. We process different colors of wool
(dyed or natural) in different ways:
  • Single Color - Only one color is used in each run.
  • Blended - The wool is picked together and after processing is all one shade. Package all fibers in one bag
  • Variegated - The wool is picked separately and streaks of color appear after processing. Package each color in separate bags.
  • Frosted - The wool is picked separately and the best result is when colors of equal weight are used. The individual colors are wrapped around each other.
